Awesome Lego Haunted House Needs to Be Mine

June 13, 2012

I’m amazed with the folks at LEGO. Seriously, the new haunted house fr thei Monster Hunters series is everything I’ve ever wanted in a LEGO set. It has a gramophone people! It looks great, I just wish the people who filmed this were better at showing more close-ups of what the darn thing looks like. When I was a kid, I begged and begged my folks to get me the LEGO pirate ship. “It’s too expensive,” they said. Although, I think my mother was more worried about me leaving pieces on the floor for that the dog could eat. Being…

The simplicity and awesomeness of this contraption astound me. I need this and I am totally jealous that I didn’t think of this sooner. http://www.etsy.com/listing/97121967/legend-of-zelda-inspired-key-hanger

NLTAG: on the Diablo front: Did you get logged in all right? Dante Dono: yeah, no errors. Though they did take down server like twice and we all had to log out for awhile It’s neat though cause a warning comes up and its like…. Diablo needs to shut down in 5 minutes for maintenance …and then every minute it ticks down….then every 10 seconds… then every second- so we were all like… GO GO GO! we need to kill the bad guys! NLTAG: well it’s good to hear you had fun not playing NLTAG: you have to stay online…

In Memoriam

I was a very lucky lil’ girl growing up. I was too old to have seen the infamous ” Mister Hooper” is dead episode on Sesame Street, so I never had to mourn that loss with Big Bird and Maria and the rest of the gang. I was, however old enough to have been around when the man himself, Jim Henson passed away. I watched every show he ever put out and committed some to memory. I learned about life and friendship, death and laughter from his programs and the characters he created. Sesame Street taught me how to read…

Quick Get Johnny Depp and My Wife On the Phone!” Depp to Possibly Star in that Blasphemous Beetlejuice Sequel

May 8, 2012

Yup, looks like this is really happening. Rumours of a Beetlejuice rumour have been floating about for a while, but it seems like the cogs are in motion. Seth Grahame-Smith is slated to have a script ready by next year. It looks like Depp and Burton have already started making jokes about the possibilities. Notice the headline reads ‘possibly’ I use the term loosely because let’s face it- Burton hasn’t really made many films without Depp in it. It’s almost as if he signed some sort of Faustian contract with that frizzy haired man. I don’t see any other reason…

RIP Maurice Sendak

May 8, 2012
By

Maurice Sendak, beloved children’s author, illustrator and charming curmudgeon died in a Danbury hospital this past weekend. Sendak, author of Where The Wild Things Are as well as many other books left us at age 83. Where The Wild Things Are was written in 1963 but was made into a film by Spike Jonze in 2009. The book was brilliant and demonstrated openly that sometimes children are just plain rude, uncouth and nasty. He didn’t glorify Max with perfect behavior. After a fight with his mother, Max then escapes into a dark, dangerous, fantasy world- free of the restrictions and…

This past April, Marvel Comics released 14 special variant covers, each showing the team in the various styles of the artists of old. And they are fuckin’ amazing. The Terror That Flaps in the Night

Have you heard of this Batman fellow?     Some of you might know that Christopher Nolan has been directing a little art house trilogy about this masked man of mystery, but what most people don’t realize is that Batman is not a new character created for his yet unfinished opus, but in fact has been around for over 70 years in one form or another.  Believe it or not, this guy started out in comic books! I know Who’da thunk it? I sure didn’t, but research pays off. He’s also been in a surprising number of Television shows, both…
